A Self-Taught Eye
Chris Abdon is a self-taught painter based in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, working in oil and acrylic on canvas to create realistic portrayals of nature. His paintings are inspired by countless hours spent outdoors — exploring the hills of Kentucky and traveling across the United States hunting and fishing.
Before dedicating himself fully to fine art, Abdon spent many years designing and illustrating for major retailers, including Walmart and Cabela's. That commercial design background shows in the precision of his compositions, paired with a painter's patience for light and texture.
His paintings have been featured in juried exhibitions including the Bentonville Fine Arts Festival, Art on the Border, and Art of the Ozarks, where he received the Best of Show award.
